VoIP Innovations and Fraudulent Callers

VoIP Innovations is a wholesale telecommunications provider that resells telecommunications services, including telephone numbers and other services to telecommunications resellers or carriers. Some of our customers may provide marketing or telemarketing services to their customers. We can’t prevent telemarketing from happening or being sold.

We do take complaints concerning use of our services very seriously and will investigate each complaint as it’s received. In some cases, this means that we request our customer to investigate the claim and take appropriate action. In other cases, we complete our own investigation and may, at our discretion, block the number appropriately from our network.

To submit a call complaint, click the link below. You will be asked to fill out the following information so we may investigate:

  1. The calling number
  2. The number called
  3. The Date and Time of the called
  4. What was said during the call. As much detail as possible for accurate investigation.

This process can take upwards of 72 hours to complete, so we humbly request your patience while we complete the investigation.

How to avoid scams and possible fraud

  1. The IRS, Social Security Office, FBI, or other government agencies will not call you requesting payment for past due balances using Google Play Gift / iTunes gift cards. If you receive a call from the IRS or anyone claiming to be with a government agency, disconnect the call immediately.

The IRS has a great resource on this: https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/irs-repeats-warning-about-phone-scams.
  2. Don’t give personal information to an unknown caller. Banks, Doctors’ offices and other facilities won’t call you asking for personal information. If they do, obtain a call back number, and verify the number they are calling from using a known good telephone number. You can obtain telephone numbers for your bank either on statement or the back of your debit / credit card. You can also use external resources to look up telephone numbers, such as Google, Yellow Pages, or another trusted source.
  3. Banks or financial institutions won’t reach out to you randomly to request banking information. They won’t send you an email indicating your account has been locked. If you receive communication, either through telephone call or email, indicating your online banking or financial account has been locked, hang up immediately and verify with your financial institution.
  4. Verify the call back number if you receive a text message indicating you need to reach out to an unknown organization immediately. If it’s a bank or financial institution, you can do this either with your bank card or statement. You can also do this on the financial institution’s website.
  5. If you receive a call from someone claiming that your computer has a virus, and they want to help by connecting remotely to your computer: disconnect the call immediately. Don’t buy into “upgraded virus protection” unless you made the call to the trusted organization. There are many great anti-virus products out there that provide customer support directly to their customers. Do your research, and determine which product works best for you.
